- 40% Tall Fescue
- 25% Annual Ryegrass
- 15% Creeping Red Fescue
- 15% Timothy
- 5% White Clover
The lawn mix is well-balanced both for sun and shade in the Canadian climate.
Turf-type tall fescue is a universal perennial grass that tolerates drought and foot traffic. It is also moderately tolerable to the shady conditions.
Creeping red fescue and white clover thrive in shady areas and quickly cover the spots where tall fescue won't do well, so Park & Play mixture is self-adjustable for various growing conditions.
Tymothy grows well in heavy soil, is resistant to cold and drought, and is thus able to grow in dry upland or poor sandy soils.
3 to 5% of white clover, added to a lawn, protects it against white grubs but also provides nitrogen to the grass. Clover converts the nitrogen from the air into a nitrogen salt in the soil. The grasses can absorb this natural fertilizer. As a result, the lawn with white clover is healthier than a pure grass lawn would be.
