Sod Benefits & Tips

If you are looking to establish a beautiful green, luscious lawn, Sod has a number benefits to transform your yard.

The advantage of using sod for your lawn include:

• Immediate luscious and vibrant green results, opposed to waiting weeks for your lawn to establish using seed.
• Sod can also minimize erosion, the mature roots of the sod aid in soil stabilization, provided a secure layer holding the ground in place.
• Sod suppresses weed growth. Sod creates a dense ground cover, making it difficult for weeds to take root in the ground.

Tips to Lay Sod:

• Layer at least 2" of clean topsoil to your desired area.
• Rake & level the area, ensuring a slight slope away from any building or structures for proper drainage.
• Install the sod in a staggered pattern (same day as sod is delivered or picked up)
• Water the sod generously, so much so it squishes under your feet.
• Continue to water the sod generously, twice daily until it takes root.
